Phil was my pilgrimage guide through western Ireland and a passionate mythologist and writer. Along with Bible Study, Tuesdays are our cheapie movie days🤣🤣 We are all seniors and as a member of Cinemark, I reserve our seats ahead of time and use my discounts for popcorn and treats and they reimburse me for their tickets ($6.75each). I will definitely share your ongoing commentary which may end up with meal conversation at a restaurant. Hey! Good food, friends, and deep conversation, it can’t get much better than that❣️

Great reflections on the film the Odyssey! The great success of Nolan's film is not only the economic blockbuster money making around the globe but more importantly everyone is talking about it, whether they like the movie or not. There are more prints of the Odyssey and of Homer's classic mythologies. The purists are criticizing Nolan's film from departing from the real text while the more progressive critics see the value of recovering the Golden Rule based on the timely values of ethics, morality, civilization, and religions. Diversity is a major target by the purists and the more literalists because some of the actors are people of color and few Greeks contributed to this film. What is clear from all of this is that Nolan’s film is a win to win scenario for everyone. All interpretations matter, and this enrich the conversation from the classics and the return to the wisdom of the humanities. The modern civilization is dying but there is an ongoing birth of a new ecological civilization based on the old fashioned Golden Rule which is at the core of Nolan's film. Tradition and postmodernity can go hand in hand.
